Last week in a post titled: With Friends Like Fox News Palin Is Better Off With Her Enemies, we reported on how Fox News is out to take down Governor Palin. We wrote (Emphesis added):
Fox wants Palin out but they don’t want to suspend her contract because by doing so they’ll be conceding that she’s a serious contender. Fox won’t do anything that would lend her credibility. They just want her to resign. The tactic now is to makePalin’s life as difficult and as miserable as possible until Palin just gets frustrated and leaves on her own citing irreconcilable differences. Things are going to get worse. Fox is about to up the ante and it’s going to get ugly.
Later that day we noted on how quick Fox News was to up the ante:
After meeting with Governor Palin yesterday Fox decided to up the ante today. Talking to Carl Cameron on his show today, Shepard Smith announced that fox will now be referring to Governor Palin as “Contributor Palin”.
Today Fox took it a step further with another blunder. In a news bulletin during Shannon Bream’s show, Fox News used a photo of Tina Fey to portray Governor Palin instead of a real one of the Governor.
Now I can see how this could have been an unintentional blunder. But with all that Fox has been accused of lately in relation to it’s treatment of Governor Palin, and with them trying to argue that all those accusations just happen to be a string of coincidences, you would assume they would be extra vigilant.
Furthermore, organizations like Fox News have their images filed, organized and well tagged. So what was a photo of Tina Fey doing filed under “Sarah Palin”?
Out of the thousands of images they have on file of Governor Palin, this week alone they surly have hundreds of her of the One Nation Bus Tour, it is really questionable that “just by accident” they picked up the one image of Tina Fey tagged in “error” as Sarah Palin.
I’m inclined to accept this as being an innocent mistake, but I would urge Fox News; For my sake, I have so many better things to do than go after you, please be careful and treat Governor Palin with the respect she deserves. An apology should definitely be forthcoming.

David Clark, Executive Producer of Weekend Programming, FOX News released the following statement:
“This past Sunday during ‘America’s News Headquarters,’ a graphics error was made during a segment on former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The producer has since been disciplined and an explanation and apology will be made in the same hour next Sunday. Fox News regrets the error.”
The same hour would be between 1pm-2pm ET Sunday June 11th.
Hopefully it’ll be a no spin apology.
My knowledge of these issues is small. I would like to know what Natives wanted her to do and what she has failed to do. I have heard that white managers of Native investment funds have been charging excessively for what they do. I have seen videos of Sarah and her family with Todd’s native relatives and it is obvious there is much love between them. They also had a Downs Syndrome boy. I saw a video of her at a flood disaster in some remote area where the victims seemed to be native people and she was clearly trying ensure that everything possible was done for them. What is clear to me is that she is not in it for the money. She gives many speeches but is paid for perhaps 10%. I would guess 70% supporting politicians and 20% for charities. I thinks she makes less than 5 mil a year. She could easily make 50 mil. Her priority is to do all she can to get the nation out of the mess it is in. I believe she is a good person but I suppose she cannot please all.
The point is they are not fair and balanced between the people they interview. For instance, BOR treats Huck with tons of respect, not Sarah. Treat them both hard, treat them both easy – doesn’t matter. Treat them with fairness and balance.
Btw. – If they take ‘governor’ away from Sarah and call her ‘contributor’, they should take ‘governor’ away from Huck and call him ‘talk show host’.
Pretty lazy and LAME reporting for fox.
Sorry, but there is NO WAY that wasn’t intentional. Out of the tens of thousands of pictures of Governor Palin they chose a Tina Fey image? Neither Bream nor her producer were responsible, but the photo editor who approved it (or the assistant who chose it) was. No doubt thinking it would go unnoticed and earn him/her bragging rights. As for Perry, I agree that he won’t run if Sarah does but I don’t think he’ll wait until July for her to make up her mind, either. He will want to know soon.
In the end it will be Palin or Perry against Christie. Yes, Christie. All you have to do is look at Christie’s cratering poll numbers in NJ and the fact that he will get smoked in the next election by the insanely popular (Mayor of Newark) Cory Booker to know that his days as a NJ politician are numbered.. It’s now or never for CC and he has to know that.
It wouldn’t be right for me not to ruffle some feathers before I say nighty-night, so here goes. This is a new and vastly improved SP were seeing in interviews. Gone are the days of the ‘lame-stream’ media complaints (thank you Greta!!!) and here are the days of the positive and powerful Palin I have always dreamed of. I love the fact that her hard work is paying off and she is taking on all comers. Her last two interviews have been a revelation.
Obama quit for his own ambitions, Palin quit for the good of her state. Palin quit more honorably than Obama. Obama still quit and didn’t finish the term he was elected for by the voters. So Obama is more selfish than Palin.

such as………….
You are not open minded. You are a hater.
She did not get herself in that mess. She was suppose to attack Obama for McCain. You aren’t whining about Biden attacking McCain for Obama. Why shouldn’t Obama be attacked? He is running for office, he can be attacked and questioned. Why do you liberals always think that you guys can only attack and not the other side?
Palin doesn’t deserve the title of “Governor” much less “contributor” – she contributes nothing of value to political or general dialogue and she’s a sad excuse for an American. She hates the “lamestream” media but then builds a bus tour designed to attract media attention – and then destroys historical fact with pride and has no humility when faced with her own ignorance. It’s a shame and embarrassment for her, and for all Americans.
That was no accident, that was an intentional and egregious insult to the Governor.
Et tu FOX!
Colint – I don’t see a way to reply directly to you so hope you find this at some point.
It would take quite a while to explain all the concerns of Native people that were not addressed adequately under the Palin administration, and what she did do, film footage not withstanding, was too little. too late in most cases. The first major mistake she made was in appointing someone opposed to Native subsistence rights for hunting and fishing to replace the only Native person on the state board of fish and game. It was the first time since the board was created nearly 40 years ago that a governor had not made sure that there was Native representation on the board. So, not only did she not nominate another Native representative, she actually appointed someone who was opposed to Native interests. Hunting and fishing for rural Alaskans, who are primarily Native, is not a luxury, it is a necessity of life and survival. The outcry from the Alaska Native leadership resulted in Palin’s nominee withdrawing her name. In Alaska, very few of us even knew Todd was part Native until after she was picked by McCain. Suddenly and surprisingly, it was a big deal. And as for the family treating her with affection, loving a family member doesn’t mean you automatically believe them to be suitable for hold an elected office. I am not suggesting that her extended family doesn’t care for her, I am stating a fact that Todd’s home community did not support her election.
There are many swipes at Palin that have been extremely low class, immature and often times off target. I wish this was not the case. A lot of the criticism reflects ignorance on the part of some of her critics about Alaska and Alaskan issues. But on the other hand, it is frustrating to read or hear her supported and praised by people who are equally uninformed and believe her to have accomplished great things here. Frankly, I thought she was a pretty interesting person – until she went off the rails on the McCain campaign trail. I thought she would come back and be a great governor but she seemed to have lost interest in our state. That was my own observation and based on reliable reports of her actions on her return at the end of the 2008 campaign. Nothing since then has changed my opinion.
Like the blog author, I can’t take more time to respond here either, but I would like to say – I don’t agree with her politics, but I cringe at many of the mean spirited attacks against her and wish people were not so cruel. Thank you for being willing to read my comments and thank to those who asked me for more information and context for my comments.
I think this is hilarious, and however thinks this is politicking or, by the same token, thinks Palin is a serious politician needs to get their head examined.
