Bristol Palin: “A Decision Has Been Made On Presidential Run” – UPDATED

Bristol Palin was on Fox and Friends this morning to promote her new book “Not Afraid of Life”. When asked if her mom already knows what she intends to do in relation to the 2012 race, Bristol responded:

You know she definitely knows, we’ve talked about it before, but some things just need to stay in the family.

Michael O’Brien at the Hill notes:

That’s a provocative answer, especially as Sarah Palin heads on Tuesday to Iowa, the key 2012 stomping ground for Republican candidates, for a screening of a biopic about her, “The Undefeated.”

Provocative is a  strong word to use here. Bristol is not a politician she doesn’t calculate every word. She simply answered a question. This does however put a little pressure on Governor Palin to make her decision public as she can no longer go with the “it’s still 50/50” answer she gave Chris Wallace two weeks ago.

Update: Apparently Bristol just walked it back a little. Byron York Tweets:

Bristol Palin on @IngrahamAngle: ‘I think that we all have an idea of what she wants to do, but still there’s been no final call on that.’

The key line is, “we might as well be doing something good.”

    SHE’S RUNNING.

It doesn’t put pressure on Palin…she has her game plan and she will follow it, including when the right time is to announce she is running.  She does not follow the traditional expectations.

  3. The Monster says:

If she’s made up her mind already, there are two possibilities:

    1) She’s not running.  If this is the case, she gains nothing from delaying the announcement that her status is not changing (she stays on Fox).

    2) She is running, but as long as she doesn’t reveal this fact, she can keep her Fox gig until the absolute last second, and make the announcement.

    From this I conclude….

    GAME ON.

Thanks for the video. Bristol is smart, stylish, sweet, & sensible. One day the Palin torch will pass to her.

  5. Sheya says:

She may have her game plan and she may not give in to the pressure. But the line of questioning about an announcement is now changing form when will you decide to what is your decision.
In all honesty, if she has already decided I would like to know what that decision is. Whatever it is. Again she doesn’t have to tell me but that still doesn’t stop me from wanting to know

I would like to know also…but I trust Palin.  There is a reason she is delaying, we just have to wait and see.

And sure, now that Bristol said that she DOES know, she can’t claim to still be thinking about it.  But it still doesn’t mean she has to tell the public yet, whichever she chooses, if she feels it would be better for her to delay.

  7. Mike Allen says:

Here is my 2 cents on the matter.  I believe Sarah will anounce that she will run on Glenn Beck’s final show on FOX.  Recently, Glenn has been interviewing all or most all of the anounced and unanounced candidates..In addition to that, when he counts down the number of shows remaining, he doesn’t say to tune in to all the remaining shows, but to be sure to tune in on Thursday. On top of all that, Sarah was interviewed on Glenn’s first show on FOX..  I’m thinking what a great ending for a great show with a blockbuster anouncement like that.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed and if I am correct, I’ll give myself a well deserved pat on the back.

Nah.  She promised she’d do it on Bob & Marks show months ago.  That’s the venue if she keeps her word. And alot of her fans know that. She’ll keep her word.

  9. PCR1 says:

I firmly believe that she should declare her intent – to run, I hope! – soon after her jury duty is over, and her last leg of the bus trip is finished with.

I imaginme that would be around the end of July, first week of August, latest.

Beyond that, delay is damaging, I believe.

Already, too many – a clear majority of Republicans, conservatives too, are convinced that she does not intend to run; these will, if more time passes, give their money to those who are running already.

That will leave less money for Sarah’s campaign.

There is the sad example of Fred Thompson – too little, too late.

True, Sarah is not Thompson, but the delay factor is applicable, just the same.

  10. Jim Hopkins says:

in other words, keep those dollars coming folks, as soon as she say’s nope  the gravy train stops
i supported her and now all i see, after her TM her name is another grifter looking for my money

  11. Well, this is important, because if she has already made her decision, her supporters need to know.

Someone stated this above, and I agree completely. If she knows that she is NOT running, then why wouldn’t she say so? There would be no really good reason not to state that she wasn’t running if she weren’t running. In fact, there would be alot of very unwholesome reasons not to just announce her decision not to run if she wasn’t going to run. That would be money. Just money and fame. That would anger alot of people.

So my only hope, since I really love Sarah Palin, is that if she decided not to run, that she tell that to her supporters as soon as possible, or she will look like absolute crap. Why keep all these people working for her day and night, in the dark, let them raise and spend money and time on her if she knew she weren’t running.

Dear Sarah Palin, if you are reading this I urge you to think long and hard about your supporters. They DESERVE to know one way or another.

Why not arrange a barbeque for a group of your staunch supporters where you show them a little gratitiude for all their labors even if you can’t give them answers right now? Or, Why not announce to your supporters where your next bus tour stop will be and show up there excited to meet a large gathering of your supporters- when you try to evade and hide from the media, guess what- you also evade and hide from your fans and supporters! Do you ever consider that? When you were trying to get CNN off your trail and trick them, you also made it difficult for your fans who were trying to show up and support you!

I think she has made her decision and is still thinking and considering all the aspects of it.  Of course she’s running…she’s encouraging her O4P operatives to keep going.  Same goes for all of us…keep going.

Not much of a supporter if you demand she do everything your way.
It’s true, that if she isn’t running, she would “look like absolute CRAP”, which is why I know she is running, and she will announce when it is time for her to do so.  And, no, we do not deserve to tell her when that will be.  She gives countless clues that she is running.
Gettysburg is a sacred place.  Maybe she wanted to experience it in a rather calm atmosphere befitting what happened there, since she had never before been there.  Maybe you also could have done the same while you were there. Did you notice she didn’t do the same at any other destination?
She isn’t hiding from the media.  She gave interviews at every stop on that trip.  She isn’t hiding from her supporters…she took much time meeting supporters on the trip and was delighted to do so.  A lot of the way she did things was for better security, she didn’t want protesters showing up either.  One thinks of things like that when your life and the life of your family is often threatened, which they are.
I’m sorry you didn’t get to meet her, but you have no right at all to demand she be where and when you want her to be.
