YNews reports on a private conversation between Obama and Sarkozy, at the G20 summit, that was cought on an open microphone:

The conversation apparently began with President Obama criticizing Sarkozy for not having warned him that France would be voting in favor of the Palestinian membership bid in UNESCO despite Washington’s strong objection to the move.

The conversation then drifted to Netanyahu, at which time Sarkozy declared: “I cannot stand him. He is a liar.” According to the report, Obama replied: “You’re fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!”

The remark was naturally meant to be said in confidence, but the two leaders’ microphones were accidently left on, making the would-be private comment embarrassingly public.

The surprising lack of coverage may be explained by a report alleging that reporters present at the event were requested to sign an agreement to keep mum on the subject of the embarrassing comments.

I’m not surprised, I always knew how those two leaders felt about Israel. But let this be a lesson to all those people who were ready to give Obama a second chance after his recent speech at the United nations, when he put up a show trying to convince Jewish voters that he so loves Israel, where Obama really stands when it comes to Israel. When there are no voters around the true Obama comes out.

Now lets see how the Obama news networks cover this, will they give it as much coverage as they gave this one, the one where Bush was standing up for Israel:

Apparently not expecting an open mic to pick up his remarks, Bush told Blair: “See the irony is what they need to do is get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit and it’s over.”

Don’t hold your breath. But no worries, Netanyahu can give as good as he can get.

That pain in the ass Netanyahu, such a crybaby, always saying “Waah, Iran’s got nuclear weapons and is going to wipe out my country’s entire population, waaah, waaah, change my diaper, I made a poopie!”

Bear in mind this is coming from a president who’s apparently depressed over the fact that he has some adversity for the first time in his life.

So basically the G20 became a high school dance where the two popular guys were overheard talking mad smack about the Jewish kid.  Then, all the other kids (you know, the ones that wish they could hang with the Bamster and that Sarkozy dude that dates the really hot chick) promised not to say anything in hopes that it would impress their idols so that next year they’d get invited to the big senior bash.

First, did they really think it would stay quiet (they may not care, as long as it stays quiet enough that the relatively disengaged don’t catch wind of it), and second, who in the world elected them the world’s information gatekeepers?

Let’s try to imagine that any journalist would agree to such a restriction or hesitate to violate it even if he or she did agree to it if a conversation like this involving a Republican or conservative, or really just about anyone other than Barack Obama would have occurred. Neither can I.

Having had the time to reflect on this story, I think that this is much ado about nothing. Obama fairly criticized Sarkozy for not having warned him that France would be voting in favor of the Palestinian membership bid in UNESCO.. basically in this particular situation Obama was on Israel’s side. The conversation drifted to talking about Netanyahu the person not the State of Israel.

Obama and Sarkozy were, as far as they were concerned, having a private conversation about Israel, in passing mentioned how they don’t like the person leading that country. This does not mean that they’ll deal with Israel differently or that it will even effect decisions. We all deal with people in various organizations including clients that we personally dislike and tell our friends about how we have to deal and play nice with those people even though we hate them. But just because we dislike a person or a client we still treat them or the cause with respect and fairly.

I’m not here to defend Obama, but I’m not going to go after him on non-issues. I complain when the Democrats do it to Republicans, I’m not going to be a hypocrite . There are many reasons to go after Obama and enough reason to believe that Obama does not like Israel, this is not one of them.
