No, you’re not hallucinating, you’re reading this correctly. The LSM is now fact checking the Wasilla border the Palin’s built to keep unwelcome predators from spying into their house, the Mat-Su-Yan Frontiersman Reports:

The “Today” show called Friday morning saying it plans to come up Monday and do some interviews about the fence Todd and Sarah Palin built on their property on Lake Lucille.

So the call from “Today,” quickly followed by a similar call from ABC news, seemed curious. The day before it was another national news outlet wanting to know if we had a photograph of the fence. There was an e-mail from Outside asking if the Palins were in compliance with city code.

The AP appointed 11 reporters to fact check the Governor’s memoir. Now we have prominent news networks fact checking a fence she built up in her yard.

The hypocrisy here is astronomical. When, in light of the Obama administration’s slow response to the oil spill, Governor Palin merely suggested that the media do its’ job and question the administration’s close ties to BP, there was an outcry from the left – how dare the Governor question the President.

After the White House released its’ statement in relation to the Joe Sestak affair, the left brushed it off as just another day in Washington.

Let’s get this straight; when dealing with the nation’s biggest environmental disaster in history, the livelihoods of thousands of people are at stake, it’s apparently wrong to ask questions. When the White House gets caught up in an alleged political bribery scandal it’s simply business as usual. But when Governor Palin erects a fence to keep a writer who has a record of missing a lot and exaggerating the rest out from seeing a lot and fantasizing the rest – oh, that must be fact checked.

For its’ part the Frontiersman notes:

Maybe we’re out of step here, but the unanimous consensus of the newsroom is that we don’t really care if the Palins want some privacy from what they worry might be prying eyes.

Fences have been known to make good neighbors and everybody knows we could use a lot more of those around here. So if the fence keeps McGinnis on one side and the Palins content, why would the “Today” show or ABC care?

Finally, those who are fond of Joe McGinnis might remind him (if he doesn’t already know) that Alaska has a law that allows the use of deadly force in protection of life and property.

At least there is still someone out there in the media with a sense of common courtesy and honest reporting.
