Noel Shepard at NewsBusters reports:
In a Parade magazine interview scheduled for publication this Sunday, the daytime talk star also said she’s not afraid of Palin running for president because she believes in ‘the intelligence of the American public”:
On Sarah Palin:
“I don’t know her so I can’t speak to [whether or not she’ll be a candidate]. But I would say that America’s going to fall in love with her from [her reality series, Sarah Palin’s Alaska]. When I saw that first episode, I went, ‘Whoa! She is charming and very likable.’”Asked whether the thought of Palin’s running for office scares her, Oprah said:
“It does not scare me because I believe in the intelligence of the American public.”Isn’t it special that Parade asked her “whether the thought of Palin’s running for office scares her?”
Not surprisingly, Winfrey was quite complimentary of the current White House resident:
Can I ask about President Obama? Are you concerned, disappointed?
No. I think that no one understands until you’ve been in that seat the enormous pressure to please and satisfy everybody. And I think instead of being grateful for where we are and what he has done, we’ve forgotten that we were on the brink of a depression when he took over this office. And as everybody celebrates the holiday season and sits around with their families, regardless of your circumstance, we could’ve had breadlines. How soon we forget that. And you would support him again?
Absolutely.
Readers should expect her comments about both these figures to get a lot of attention in the coming days, especially from the Palin-deranged media.
As Noel predicted, the media is fast catching on to this story. CNN for example covers the story with the headline: Oprah talks Palin, 2012. Although CNN does mention that Winfrey supported and campaigned for Obama in 2008, they fail to mention that Oprah has already announced that she is supporting Obama for re-election. With the 2012 campaign already on the horizon, it is no surprise that Oprah would begin the snarky remarks against Governor Palin. Expect it to get worse and for the media to hinge on to Oprah’s every word.
Who needs fair & balanced when they have Oprah?
